This is from Solomon's Journal
Day 7
Today we went from Austin to Eureka. It was fun but hard. It was around 63 miles. We had to go through part of highway 50 the lonliest highway in America. It was hot. There were lizards. There weren't any trees. We also saw a red tailed hawk. Day 7 was fantastic.
Djina's comments in italics...I think by the time Solomon wrote this he had already consumed a large amount of ice cream and taken a shower

Great going. We've been following your ride from the blog. You guys are awesome. We're with you in spirit.
Djina, Have you solved your photo download problem? You should use a memory card reader. You plug in your memory card and it plugs in to a computer via usb cable. Looks like any other hard drive/folder to the computer. Biggest differentiator is size of internal memory - from none to 100s of GB. You'll need to transfer you photos somewhere to create space. Best is to upload them to one of the photo sites. Having hard drive space on the reader is convenient. You get extra backup assurance and youre not dependent upon finding a place where you can plug in and upload to your photo site. A few GB of memory might do you, depends on how many photos and the size of each. Its pretty consistent per camera. My point-and-shoot camera uses about 1MB/photo. Let me know if you need any further help (jonathan.lewis@accenture.com).

Btw Yonah, Nevada's state flower is sagebrush.
FYI-
It has small yellow and white flowers in the spring grow abundantly in the deserts of the Western United States. A member of the wormwood family, sagebrush is a branching
bush (1 to 12 feet high) and grows in regions where other kinds of vegetation cannot subsist. Known for its pleasant aroma, its gray-green twigs, and pale yellow flowers, sagebrush is an important winter food for sheep and cattle Native Americans used sagebrush leaves as medicine and sagebrush bark for weaving mats. Adopted March 20, 1917.
We're following you every few days. We rode the six long miles from our house to Yountville yesterday (even Kai on his own steam), and thought about your the enormity of your trip.
Can't wait for the next entry.
Harry says it's amazing that you are going all the way to Washington D.C. from San Francisco.
Cheers from Napa!
Thanks Loni. The problem is, the computers I'm working off of are about 20 yrs. old and don't have usb ports. I have the usb with me but no place on the computers to plug them in. Anyhow, our friend Ken is here in Cedar City with us and he brought his computer so I'll use this for now and try your solution next time.
Ps we love the natural history piece on Sage Brush. I'm going to pick a bunch and dry it so I can Smudge along the way (as needed.
Love you,
Djina et. al.
