So glad you got the humming bird red bird lunch on digital. I have no idea what sort of bird that is.. I will check my bird books..and get back to you..you are getting a "birds eye" view of this country and its peculiar schizophrenia.. The beauty of the west..vast inexplicable.whispered memories.. and then the ubiqitous trailers..and ugly shacks..that sully even this magnificent expanse. What is it about the human race that figures its got a right to be tacky. Oh yea, its the economy stupid..but at least some of these trailers still have wheels..which means they can be rolled away. Conversely this race of ours has built some extraordinary things..there seems to be two opposing principles at work here. I have often thought the Indians had the right idea. But we managed to crush them. They didn't see the earth as something to plunder..they saw it as their natural resource. To respect and to use carefully. They didn't think about expanding their economy, they thought about, today we have eaten. Bless this day. It was a day to day culture..theres was a moveable feast..(to be fair sometimes some tribes did plunder their neighbor, even Indians had rogue tribes) but with no thoughts of destroying the land. Capitalism wasn't much on their minds. Well we showed them! Brillant-- that you are recording yourselves as you travel along and as you are finding the mystery of Place. Yvette
