Some thoughts from Solomon....

One day we had to go up Monarch Pass, it was about 11,000ft. and went on for about 10 miles. Fortunately for us it was a pretty gradual grade. Our average speed, however, wasn't that good. We only went about 4.4 mph. It is interesting because in the Tour De France (which we saw on TV today) they went 26 mph on an uphill, which is 22mph more than what we did. Finally we reached the top of Monarch Pass. We had lunch and bought some ice cream and then we went back out of the store. Then is started to rain...and hail! And then suddenly we saw snow on a car's window...and roof, which pretty happened to every single car there. Fortunately the hail, rain, and snow was enough to make snowballs which I personally delivered to my brother.
Here are my top 5 things I like about the trip:
#1 Hotels-because they have actual beds and TV
#2 Rest stops-finally we have a chance to rest and stop riding, maybe have a bit to eat and ummmm drink a little Sprite.
#3 Downhills-we get to go fast! Our highest speed so far has been 45.1 mph!
#4 The wildlife-we see lots of cool things like Beavers, Marmets, and Birds. In fact there was one bird that let us pet it, and it was wild.
#5 French Fries-they are probably one of my favorite foods of the entire trip...they taste really good.
So far this trip has been very fun for me!
Sincerely,
Solomon

Hey Solly, I mean "Sprite": You are my favorite French Fry buddy. Try them with gravy, it is sort of like the aioli you get at home. I was glad to read your Blog and know that you are seeing lots of birds and ice cream- two really good things in life. Well, that plus Pop Tarts. I am glad you are going fast and staying strong and havng fun. Keep those cards and letters coming. Tell Yonah I said, "Hi."

Cheers - Ken

Hi Solly-
Glad to see you are having such a great time. When you come back to Davis, if you come to our synagogue in Sacramento, I will have to make sure to take you over to Vic's for Ice Cream. Keep up the good work!

Hugs from Jill in Sacramento
