72 miles, Max. speed 17.2mph, Ave. speed 10.6mph, riding time 6:50hrs, elapsed time 9:30hrs. Nice day for a ride, flat, warm...starting to get humid but not unpleasant yet. The winds were pretty mellow today, about 10pm mostly NE with more North than East. We made good time though. At one point Yonah and I were riding along together, passing fields of corn that were literally miles long. It gives a whole new meaning to the word Field. It makes those big Ag fields in Davis, Woodland,Winters look like small garden plots. Suddenly I realized that neither of us had said a word for two hours. It is like that riding through Kansas sometimes....just mezmerizing. The people are very friendly though, the nicest we've come across. The little towns we pass through are very depressed. Lots of boarded up shops, houses, and buildings. Everything sort of run down. Most of the corn and wheat is grown by Dry Farming so these guys are totally at the whim of Mother Nature and unpredictable rainfall...I couldn't handle that.

That was supposed to be:
Enjoy the good weather all through Kansas all of next week.
Hi guys,
Don't know if you've been getting our comments, but we wanted to say again how awesome we think you all are, and how we miss you.
Daniel wanted "Sprite" to know that he will not have his birthday party until you guys are back in Davis.
So stay safe, keep writing (thank you so much by the way for keeping all those who care about you posted about your progress) and keep peddling.
Love
Juana and the boys.
Juana, we LOVE getting all your comments and I make sure that Sprite sees them too. Did you know that he called Daniel a few weeks ago? They talked for about 30 min.
L,
D
