June 20th Day 13 Wednesday

Woke up early and rode to Cedar City. Head winds the whole way. Took us forever. It was only 55 miles and one high but gradual summit but it took us 7 hrs. and we averaged 7.7mph. We were soooo wiped when we finally got to Cedar City. But, there was a big silver lining. Ken had flown out from Davis with his bike and he met us halfway and pulled the Burley on his bike for the last 20 miles. He distracted us from our misery. We are all staying in the hotel here, about a block away from the Shakespeare theatre. We got in, took showers, Ken had brought us all kinds of supplies and fancy clothes to wear to the play. He also brought a little cooler filled with exotic and amazing cheeses and chocolates, as well as some fresh Dalias from his garden. We went out for Mexican food and the boys spoke in Spanish to the waitress and the cook, who were so enamored they brought us a special dessert on the house. Matt was just happy to have someone to drink beer with him.
The next day we woke up late, went swimming, did laundry, did shopping, took the boys for hot fudge sundaes at a very authentic soda fountain, had dinner by the pool, and then went to see the best production of Twelfth Night that I have ever seen (and I've seen it about 5 times in various places). We all LOVED it. Then we put the boys to bed and soaked in the hot tub. It was a great day and just what we needed.
Tomorrow we go to Bryce Canyon (by car).
