I forgot about the Armadillos. We saw three. Unfortunately they were all dead. The road kill is really gruesome. Poor Solomon, he takes it all so hard. He grieves for every dead animal he sees, every individual toad....all those years of shielding him from the gruesome images on TV..and then this.
We do see lots of great birds though...live I mean. We see some really beautiful woodpeckers, Blue Herons, falcons, prarie hawks, flycatchers (at least that is what Matt thinks they are), Matt and Solomon have also seen a bunch of Cardinals.

Sorry Solomon must see the distruction caused by cars. Poor creatures all.
Trying to check on the story out of Hutchinson News..haven't found it yet..but ran into lots of cyclist with your brand of courage and for the same purpose. One such: Ride for Climate USA..check out their site..when next you get some time on a computer...Yvette
When I heard you say "it's me, Djina" just as if you were over in West Davis, it was hard to imagine you off in God's country. I meant to tell you how much I enjoy reading your comments, because you have a divine way with words (God must be moving your mouse or cursor or whatever). I was practically in tears areading that Solomon mourns every individual toad. You need to write a book! As for that crackpot godly reporter, she gave Yonah the opportunity to be strong in yet a different way and he rose to the challenge. No doubt God had a purpose in inflicting her on y'all.
love,
ruth
Oh man Ruth, it was great talking to this morning. I am feeling a little homesick and a lot anxious about Missouri from all the tales of vicious dogs and vicious drivers. I'm sure we'll be ok....God willing and all.
love you,
Djina
Anty Vett,
I'll look that up right now.
Did you find the article yet? She actually wrote a very good article with none of the other stuff, thank goodness. I was worried it was going to be an article all about the heathens crossing America.
Just adding my thoughts to the chorus of voices on that "reporter".
I'm sorry you guys went through that; I can only imagine what a horrible seen that must have been. I want Yonah to know however, that the God I believe in and the Bible I know, would actually see him and you guys as the real "children of God". The Jesus in the Bible warned about people who do a lot of talking and preaching, and told us to look to people's actions, not their words. Remember also the story of the good Semaritan, he was the one considered not a believer, or worthy.
If that woman truly new her Bible, and truly was a "good Christian woman" she never would have said what she did; she never would have "passed judgment" on Yonah or anyone else. She would have remembered the Golden rule, to love thy neighbor and treat them the way she wants to be treated, and she would have looked on the inside rather than look for "flaws" in other people.
Yonah, know that the GOD I believe in loves you, and cheers you on with this difficult mission you've embarked on. Try to forgive that woman, for you have the bigger hearts.
My prayers are with you
Hi, I have a copy of the article if you want it mailed anywhere. It didn't mention anything about Yonah's religious beliefs. Apparently it was "on a personal note" from the reporter. I agree so much with the post about the Golden Rule and Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged. Hope you are all well.
